Aldermore Group has today announced the appointment of Louise Britnell as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replacing Ralph Coates.
Louise has recently operated as CFO at the Co-operative Bank, where she led the Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Secretariat functions. During her four years as CFO at the Co-operative Bank, she has played a pivotal role in driving its growth and overseeing its successful sale to Coventry Building Society earlier this year.
Prior to her time at Co-operative Bank, she spent four years at one of the UK’s largest pension scheme by assets. Her early career was spent at Deloitte, working across a number of banking, insurance, and non-standard lending clients.
Louise will start in September 2025 and replaces Ralph Coates who has been the Aldermore Group CFO since May 2022.
Steven Cooper, CEO at Aldermore, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Louise to the business. She brings deep financial services expertise and is exceptionally well placed to support our ambitions as we enter the next phase of our journey.
I’d like to thank Ralph for his outstanding contribution to Aldermore and for being an integral part of our executive team. His leadership has played a key role in the bank’s growth in recent years.”
Louise Britnell said: “I’m excited to be joining Aldermore at such a pivotal time in its growth. I look forward to working with Steven and the wider leadership team to build on the bank’s strong momentum and to continue supporting underserved areas of the market.”
Ralph Coates said: “It’s been a privilege to serve as CFO at Aldermore. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I wish Steven, Louise and the whole team every success as the bank continues to grow and evolve.”
