Making changes to your mortgage

You may be able to change the term of your mortgage, subject to eligibility and our lending policy at that time. Contact our servicing team at mortgage.servicing@aldermore.co.uk, or call 0333 321 1000.

You may be able to change your repayment type during the lifetime of your mortgage subject to our lending policy. Call our servicing team on 0333 321 1000, or email mortgage.servicing@aldermore.co.uk.

They’ll be able to tell you if you are eligible and can arrange this for you.

We can’t transfer your current mortgage to a new property. However, if you move home during your early repayment charge (ERC) period and take out a new mortgage with us, here’s how we refund the charge. Your new mortgage must complete within 6 months of the repayment date of the current mortgage, and is subject to eligibility and our lending policy at that time:

  • If your new mortgage is the same or more than the balance of your current mortgage, we’ll refund the full early repayment charge
  • If your new mortgage is less than the balance of your current mortgage, we’ll refund the early repayment charge up to the amount of your new mortgage balance

You can update your details by submitting a request using our online mortgage request form under ‘I need to update my contact details’, or you can call our servicing team on 0333 321 1000. 

You’ll need to send us evidence of this change, for example a marriage or divorce certificate, or a certified copy with a covering letter and we will update our records for you.

Depending on when your current rate ends, your first mortgage payment could be higher than your regular payments. This is because you might have spent some time on our variable rate (AMR). When we first get in touch with you about your current deal ending, we’ll give you the option of switching at the next available month, the end of your current deal, or for the 1st of the month that your current deal ends.

So, if for example your current deal ends on 10th, your payment for that month will include circa 20 days of the AMR variable rate before you then switch on 1st of the following month.

Please note: All our product switches start at the beginning of the month. So, If you’d like to switch your mortgage for the next calendar month, you’ll need to complete your product switch no later than 15 working days before your next direct debit date. We’ll then have enough time to set this up for you.
