Aldermore’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Becky Pinkard has been nominated for the Security Serious Awards’ CISO of the Year Award. The award goes to the person who ‘understands and knows how to look for weaknesses in security systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker, but in a lawful and legitimate manner’.

Becky said of her nomination:

‘I am delighted to have been nominated for such a prestigious industry award. To be considered as part of such a distinguished group of peers is a real honor. Cyber and information security is a real career passion of mine and continues to be one of the most important issues facing society today.

Hackers are finding more innovative ways to capture our data. As custodians of peoples’ data, it is important that companies and businesses take security seriously. CISOs have the most important role in this endeavor and I’m proud of the work I have done in my career, and now at Aldermore, to rise to the challenges that cyber and information security continues to present.’

Security Serious was set up in 2015 by Eskenzi PR as a dedicated award ceremony during European cyber security awareness month which falls every October. CISOs play an important role in securing all aspects of the business and implementing programmes that increase the security posture of an organisation.

Becky has been nominated along with 16 other distinguished nominees for the award that includes the CISO’s of Vodafone and Stagecoach Group. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on the 4th October in London.
