Founded in the 1930s, Atkinson Walker has grown to become one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of circular saw blades. Now under new ownership, Nick Alexander, the Chairman of Atkinson Walker, has now set his sights on an ambitious expansion with a view to maintaining the firm’s competitive advantage over key rival regions Germany, France and Sweden. Chris decided to use Aldermore’s Invoice Finance to free up cash-flow to support his growth ambitions for the business.
Nick Alexander, Chairman of Atkinson Walker, said:
“Atkinson Walker has a long history as a successful business and I believe that the company has an even brighter future. We are very proud of our Sheffield heritage and as we look for further export growth, the ‘Made in Sheffield’ logo on our blades gives us a strong competitive advantage over similar suppliers in Germany, France and Sweden.
“Aldermore’s invoice finance facility has helped free up funds to enable us to further invest in future growth.
“The bank has taken the time to understand Atkinson Walker, and is providing a bespoke facility that addresses our business needs directly.”
Dan Summerfield, Regional Director at Aldermore Bank, added:
“Atkinson Walker has been an established and profitable business for generations, which is one of the reasons why we are so happy to support them. With its expertise and ambitious plans going forward, it has the potential to flourish.
“It’s great that Aldermore can support such a strong, ambitious business which has a genuine impact on its local community.”
