Aldermore, Britain's leading challenger bank, has launched 'Stories' as part of the national Small Business Saturday initiative on 7th December

Under the headline 'Tell us your small business story', Aldermore is looking to hear from SMEs about challenges faced when starting their business, the story of how their business idea came about and general tips that could be useful to other SMEs. Stories is being launched as a competition and users are encouraged to vote for their favourite story. The story with the most votes can win an iPad 2*.

SMEs are invited to go to and submit their story.

Mark Stephens, Deputy CEO and Group Commercial Director, comments: "At Aldermore, we fully support Small Business Saturday as it's a fantastic initiative, given that SMEs are the lifeblood of the economy.

"I'm delighted that we can launch Stories as a way of getting involved with Small Business Saturday. We are always looking for more ways to better engage with small businesses.

"Aldermore itself started out as an SME, and having been here right from the start, I know just how tough it can be to operate a small business. Aldermore's own journey from its origins to the present day will be featured as the first story.

"We hope that small businesses will be forthcoming with their stories, allowing other SMEs to recognise common challenges, and hopefully learn from the stories of other small businesses."

Since forming in 2009, Aldermore has lent over £1.6 billion to UK SMEs.
