Aldermore chief welcomes launch of FCA savings review

Speaking on today's formal launch of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Cash savings market study, Aldermore Bank's, MD for Savings, Simon Healy said:

"For most ordinary people, putting something aside for a rainy day, retirement or their children's future is a completely responsible and practical thing to do.

"Yet the UK savings market is too complicated and does not hold the interest of the consumer at heart. The FCA must be firm on those financial institutions who have manipulated savers into high-paying accounts only to slash the rates at a later date. The system should look to reward hardworking and responsible savers and end this phoney culture of teaser rates."

"This review is long overdue and will hopefully be the beginning of a fairer and more transparent marketplace for UK savers. We at Aldermore look forward to making our own contribution".

Simon Healy will be available for broadcast. For details please see below.
