Commenting on the Council of Mortgage Lenders' figures for Scotland released today

Aldermore Bank's Residential Mortgages Managing Director Charles Haresnape said:

"These figures are encouraging and show that the housing market in Scotland is improving in line with the rest of the UK. Aldermore entered the residential and buy-to-let mortgage market in Scotland in June this year and we are already seeing high demand for our range of products from brokers and customers.

"The housing market north of the border is certainly showing renewed confidence and we expect this to continue. We are excited about the growth prospects in Scotland."

Aldermore had lent over £1.3 billion to residential homeowners at the end of June 2013, helping nearly 2,000 homeowners since the start of this year.
