British challenger bank Aldermore has further strengthened its Invoice Finance team in the Midlands with the appointments of Chris Meldrum as Regional Sales Director and Alex Russon as Regional Sales Manager.

Chris joins Aldermore following 23 years working in the banking sector, 15 of which have been in invoice finance. Alex previously worked in the region for Lloyds TSB in Commercial Finance and brings more than two decades working with SMEs.

Commenting on the new appointments, Ross McFarlane, Aldermore Invoice Finance Commercial Director, said: "Aldermore is growing extremely quickly in the Midlands, which shows our approach to supporting SMEs by providing industry-leading expertise and customer service is working. I am delighted to welcome Chris and Alex to the team as we look to enhance our service even further and grow the business in the coming years."

Commenting on his appointment, Chris Meldrum said: "I was attracted to Aldermore because of the way it does business and treats its clients. To be working at a bank that genuinely has the needs of its clients at the heart of everything it does is a breath of fresh air, and I am excited about the challenge ahead to grow the bank even further."

Invoice finance is used by small and medium-sized businesses to unlock cash tied up in unpaid invoices, which can help improve cashflow and facilitate their future expansion.

Aldermore has lent more than £2.5 billion (a combination of commercial mortgages, residential mortgages, asset finance and invoice finance) since first opening its doors for business in the summer of 2009.
