Aldermore, the new British bank, has strengthened its North West-based commercial mortgage lending team with the appointment of Mark Pagett to the role of Senior Commercial Lending Manager and Darren Switzer to the role of Lending Manager, based in Aldermore's Manchester city centre office.

Pagett is responsible for managing a team of four Lending Managers who cover the Midlands and North and reports to Rob Lankey, Managing Director of Commercial Mortgages, to whom he provides support developing and implementing the bank's commercial mortgage lending strategy.

Mark joined Aldermore in 2009 as a Lending Manager and has played a key role in growing Aldermore Commercial Mortgages. He has 25 years banking experience gained with the Royal Bank of Scotland, West Bromwich Building Society, Yorkshire Bank, Bank of Ireland and ING.

Mark Pagett said: "This is an exciting time to be managing a team of commercial lending managers with responsibility for the Midlands and North. Small and medium sized businesses throughout the region are crying out for financial support and Aldermore is well positioned to help Manchester-based businesses seeking mortgages for the purchase of commercial property."

Darren Switzer added: "Manchester is the only city outside London with a real self-contained property community. There is no other like it. Being born and bred in the North West I am looking forward to helping customers hoping to buy property in the region with Aldermore's support.

Rob Lankey, Managing Director of Commercial Mortgages at Aldermore, said: "Mark and Darren have many years commercial lending experience. I have no doubt they will both be able to make an immediate impact in their respective roles and I wish them every success for the future."
