Following a relationship breakdown several years ago, David experienced financial difficulties which resulted in satisfied defaults and a County Court Judgment (CCJ). Since then, he had worked hard to rebuild his credit profile, maintain a strong repayment record and improve his overall financial position.
While high street lenders were unable to support the application due to historic adverse credit, Aldermore took a more individual approach. By looking beyond past credit events and assessing David's current circumstances, affordability and ability to sustain mortgage repayments, we gained a fuller picture of his situation.
Through our manual underwriting approach and consideration of the customer's overall profile, we were able to offer a mortgage that helped David purchase his new home.
This case highlights how a flexible approach to mortgage lending for customers with historic adverse credit, including CCJs and defaults, can help more people achieve their homeownership goals.
This case study is not based on real life events, and all applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
