Aldermore’s CEO on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme

Following the launch of the National Loan Guarantee Scheme (NLGS), Aldermore has confirmed on the BBC's Today Programme this morning that it will be participating in this new initiative.

Following the launch of the National Loan Guarantee Scheme (NLGS), Aldermore has confirmed on the BBC's Today Programme this morning that it will be participating in this new initiative.

Simon Jack, the interviewer, outlined the scheme and stating:  "More credit can be given as banks are not being forced to take greater risks."

Phillip Monks, CEO for Aldermore endorsed the Government's NLGS, explaining firstly about Aldermore's traditional banking model and that: "this was a step in the right direction and the NLGS would stimulate the volume of money available to SMEs."

He went on to say:  "Aldermore was lending £70 million per month and SMEs were coming to us for funding.
