Last year, over £460 million was spent with small British firms on Small Business Saturday UK, and this year’s event on the 6th of December aims to push that total higher still.
As one of a fleet of supporters for the initiative, Aldermore hopes to play its part by raising awareness for the incredible variety of brilliant SMEs in the British Isles, and how they contribute to society as a whole.
In the final week before Small Business Saturday, the Bank will be inviting the Twitter community to share their nominations for a shopping list of the nation’s best small businesses to visit in the run-up to Christmas. Whether it’s the local farm-shop that produces the tastiest turkeys, or the online craft store full of unique hand-made gifts for the family, Aldermore wants to hear your suggestions for the independent firms that make Christmas special for UK households.
Throughout the week, the Bank will be sharing the best recommendations through a series of graphics, creating a personalised Mini for each small firm featured as a thank you for the countless hours they put in to help their customers enjoy the festive season.
After all, though each individual Mini may be small, as a whole they form an impressive fleet, echoing the important role that Britain’s thousands of small businesses play within the economy as whole and encouraging SMEs to work together to make Small Business Saturday UK a success.
Which independent firm do you think deserves a place on Aldermore’s Small Business Saturday UK Christmas list? Share your suggestions with the Bank on Twitter using the #SmallBizChristmas hashtag.
