Conclusions from our series on UK manufacturing

IN: Industry news

Last week, Aldermore highlighted the fortunes of UK manufacturers across the United Kingdom. Over the series, the Bank explored the state of SMEs in a number of regions, including the South West, North East and West Midlands.

Over the course of the Bank's investigation, leading organisations and individuals have commented on the health of the sector, highlighting positive surveys and growing exports as a sign that the industry is recovering from the economic crisis.

Manufacturing is crucial to the United Kingdom, contributing £137 billion every year to the economy, making up 50 per cent of UK exports. The Bank has highlighted some key statistics from the sector below, demonstrating the importance of the work done by SMEs across the country.

Aldermore has championed SMEs since its launch, offering services specifically suited to small businesses. These products, ranging from invoice finance to commercial mortgages, are designed with these enterprises in mind. We're championing British businesses.
