UK manufacturing generates £137 billion every year, representing 10 per cent of UK economic output.

There are over 270,000 companies in the industry, employing 1.8 million, and the sector is vital to the UK's economic recovery. Each month, the official Twitter hashtag for discussion relating to the country's manufacturing sector, #ukmfg, is used over 1,000 times.

Aldermore is delighted to support the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards, an annual celebration which recognises UK manufacturers of all sizes. The event, held in January 2014, features 17 categories, acknowledges high-growth businesses, companies demonstrating innovation in the sector and those organisations who have reached out to export to new markets.

The deadline for entries for the awards has been extended until July 31 and you can find more information on how to submit your application for consideration here.

Speaking about the awards, Aldermore Managing Director Rob Lankey said:

"Aldermore is proud to partner with EEF to recognise and reward the talent and great contribution that manufacturers and apprentices make to the UK economy. These awards are a testament to the talent that is being honed in the sector against a backdrop of continued economic uncertainty."

Good luck to every UK manufacturer entering the awards. We look forward to championing these vital SMEs at the event in January.
