This week, graduates from over 40 countries have been invited to learn from some of the leading business minds in the UK in the 2013 Entrepreneur's Festival.

Organised by UK Trade and Investment, as part of the Business is Great campaign, the three-day event aims to encourage graduates with start-up business ideas to become entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom.

The programme has drawn in some of the leading British entrepreneurs and SME owners to speak at the event, including North West Entrepreneur of the Year Scott Fletcher, entrepreneur-in-residence for the Department for Business Innovation and Skills Rekha Mehr and Cara Buzasi from The Huffington Post.

Speaking about the event, Paola Cuneo from UKTI, said:

"This week - even more than usual - Manchester will be brimming with talent, enthusiasm and ideas. Our ambition is to create the next generation of global businesses, here in the UK."

Tim Newns, chief executive of MIDA, Manchester's investment agency, added:

"There were around 10,500 business births in Greater Manchester in 2011 and this is testament to the region's proven track record for nurturing start-up businesses and the scale of opportunity on offer here."
