Diversity and Inclusion at Aldermore

Be inclusive, gracious, decent and humble.
Value our differences. One Aldermore.

We are continuing to build an environment that values differences; an environment where everyone’s views and contributions can be heard and seen.

Home to our LGBTQ+ Employee Network, a group of passionate and collaborative colleagues spanning Aldermore Bank and MotoNovo Finance, we are driving inclusion for our LGBTQ+ colleagues. The Network is a virtual, safe space to talk and share issues and concerns, as well as a safe space to celebrate all aspects of LGBTQ+ life. The Network is the hub and driving force behind several inclusive initiatives including Pride celebrations, a partnership with Stonewall and the sponsorship of LGBTQ+ hockey club London Royals.

Led by our Chief Operating Officer, Zish Khan, we have recently established a BAME Colleague Network, focused on creating and fostering mentoring and sponsorship within our BAME colleague community. Recent world events have thrown a spotlight on issues of inequality in our society. As an organisation that prides itself on making a positive difference to the communities in which we operate, we must act in the places where it’s possible for us to do so – this is the right thing to do.

Inspiring Future Female Leaders

What began with being one of the early signatories to the Women in Finance Charter, we’re taking this new workstream one step further. Sponsored by our Chief Financial Officer, Claire Cordell, the focus is on inspiring and developing female talent, removing the barriers that may prevent female talent from developing and taking on more senior roles. We’re excited to offer our talented females colleagues’ access to two development programmes: The Pipeline’s Leadership Summit and the 30% Club cross-company mentoring scheme.

Mental Health

We want our colleagues to prioritise their mental health and well-being. Our vision is to raise mental health awareness, support colleagues to maintain good mental health, deliver prevention and implement core mental health standards and practices. We’re very proud to have launched “Well-being Wednesday’s” – a platform open to every colleague. We actively encourage colleague participation in these weekly sessions, taking an hour away to learn more about the importance of mental health and most importantly diminishing the perceived stigma so often attached to mental health in the workplace.
