Aldermore, the specialist bank, has announced that Chris Stamper will leave its Board following six years as a Non-Executive Director. At the same time, Mr Stamper will step down from his directorship of AFS Group Holdings Ltd, a strategic partner and one of the largest introducers to asset and commercial finance funders in the UK, in which Aldermore holds a minority equity stake.

Chris joined the Board of Aldermore in May 2013, bringing with him extensive experience of the asset finance sector, as a Founding Governor of The Leasing Foundation, a best practice organisation established in 2012, and was previously a Director of the Finance and Leasing Association. Chris was also a director and CEO of ING Lease (UK) from 2005 to 2013.

Pat Butler, Chairman at Aldermore, said: “I would like to thank Chris for the enormous contribution he has made to Aldermore, and in helping to develop our lending and asset finance businesses. Aldermore has been on an incredible journey over the past few years, and Chris has played a significant role in leading the business through this – most recently following our acquisition by FirstRand.”

Chris Stamper added: “I would like to thank Phillip and all of the team at Aldermore for their support during the past six years. While always difficult to make the decision to leave, I look forward to following the Bank’s progress in the future. This is a hugely exciting time, with many opportunities for growth ahead under FirstRand’s ownership, and following Aldermore’s integration with MotoNovo.”
