Harrogate Water, a premium supplier of still and sparkling bottled water based in the North Yorkshire spa town, is set to significantly increase production at its manufacturing plant by 27,000 bottles of water per hour following the installation of a new state-of-the-art Krones bottling line.
Founded by Tony Cain in 2001 and now managed by Tony’s son James, Harrogate Water Brands owns and produces Harrogate Spring Water and charity brand Thirsty Planet. The company enjoys an illustrious heritage founded on Harrogate’s unique springs that have been traced back to the 16th century and employs more than 70 staff.
The new glass and plastic combination production line, which has been funded by a £5 million finance facility from Aldermore, the specialist bank, will replace the company’s original glass bottling line and will provide much needed additional capacity at one of the most environmentally efficient facilities in the world.
The new asset finance funding complements the existing working capital facility that the company agreed with Aldermore in early 2012.
James Cain, Managing Director at Harrogate Water Brands, said: “When we were seeking a new banking partner in early 2012, we looked for a lender that really understood our business and could support our growth ambitions; Aldermore met these criteria. The fact that our relationship with the Bank is moving into its sixth year tells us that we made the right choice.
“During our time working with Aldermore, Harrogate has gone from strength to strength. We have invested heavily in the business in recent years and now, with our new bottling line, we are equipped with the latest technology to allow us to meet increasing demand for our products as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Carl D’Ammassa, Group Managing Director, Business Finance at Aldermore, said: “Harrogate has been on an impressive trajectory over the past few years and we are very pleased to have played a small part in their success. Since we started working with Harrogate five years ago we have aimed to help them realise their strategic objectives and are looking forward to continuing our partnership well into the future.
“Our relationship with Harrogate, is a great example of how Aldermore is able to provide multiple products to support businesses growth aspirations.”
