Many of us consider giving something up for Lent, but just like when we formulate New Year's Resolutions or start a new diet, it's all too easy to give up.

Chocolate and sweets are the obvious choice, but things like smoking, drinking, shopping and even eating meat all feature quite highly on people's wish-lists of everyday things to give up over the religious period.
