This week saw some of the nation's most inspiring manufacturing businesses come together to celebrate EEF's Future Manufacturing Awards in London.

As a main sponsor, Aldermore's Managing Director of Commercial Mortgages Rob Lankey was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome these enterprising companies to the event, proclaiming to the audience;

"It's heart-warming to see that this bastion of the UK economy is still at the forefront of innovation and you are working hard to keep yourselves ahead of the overseas competition."

With the latest report from EEF and Aldermore predicting 2.7 per cent growth for British manufacturing this year, prospects are looking much more positive for this vital sector of the UK economy, outshining all other European nations. In light of this improving climate, The EEF Future Manufacturing Awards set out to congratulate the businesses that are making this recovery possible.

"We know and recognise the importance of the manufacturing sector to the UK economy and how your success and growth has a huge ripple effect across other industries," commented Lankey, adding, "Taking part in this awards programme and seeing the calibre of submissions has been an eye opener for me and the rest of the Aldermore team."

EEF CEO Terry Scuoler echoed this view, stating; "UK manufacturers achieve greatness, yet rarely step into the limelight. Our awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of our diverse manufacturing sector and the talented young apprentices who are shaping the future." Aldermore was glad to see such worthy winners receive a rare moment of recognition, with some of their reactions on Twitter outlined below:
