Supporting green investment with asset finance

Dove Haven care homes are a family run care group providing quality residential and nursing care for the elderly. For 30 years they’ve prided themselves on the happy, welcoming atmosphere of their homes. Now they’re looking to build on their green credentials. There was an opportunity to take advantage of the current feed-in tariffs (FIT) by installing 100kW solar panels costing £120k at Garden Lodge. With the FIT set to fall they needed swift finance to lock in the current rates. Their broker, George Parker of Portman Asset Finance, turned to Aldermore whose simple approach and quick decision making made it possible.

A rapid solution

Mark Gilbert, Director of Dove Haven comments:

“We’re committed to a green agenda, especially when this can generate an income that we can reinvest in our homes. We needed a finance company who would be supportive of this. It was important to take advantage of FIT payments before they dropped from 12p to 4p per kW. So the funding was time critical.”

Simple finance with no deposit

George Parker added:

“Aldermore are very supportive of renewables and lending to care homes. They’re so easy to do business with and have great rates and simple paperwork. They turned everything round with time to spare, financing a deal for renewables with no deposit, which really appealed to our client.”
