Things you need to know


  • You should keep at least £1,000 in your account at any one time. An interest rate of 0.05% AER is payable on balances below £1,000.
  • What you'll need to open your account in just 15 minutes:

    • A UK-based business, where all directors, owners and account users are aged 18 or over, resident in the UK and only liable to pay tax in the UK
    • Your business details (Name, Address and if you have one, your Company Registration Number)
    • The sort code and account number for your business' bank or building society account. The account must allow transfers to be made and received electronically and will be known as your nominated account. Your nominated account is the only source from which you can transfer money into your Aldermore account
    • A mobile telephone that can receive text messages. This is how Aldermore will send you your account password and without it you will be unable to log into your account
    • Internet access, as all of our business savings accounts are online accounts and are opened and managed online
  • Once you’ve funded your Easy Access Account, you can pay more money in or make withdrawals whenever you like. If you make a withdrawal your money will be transferred to your nominated account

  • outdated security login makes login too difficult oliver

    the login security process is far too difficult. Even though i have the full codes and passwords it took seven times to login and 2 calls to the helpdesk. Most banks moved away from this type of setup process a long time ago when they recognised the sysytem is so secure even their customers cannot login to the system. You should provide key fobs instead of number sequences. I know you will say customers prefer not to have key fobs well maybe you should give customers the option and let them decide since both methods are secure. Also if you are going to use a capital letter in the 7 to 10 digit security codes in the account opening process then you should explain more clearly that the capital letter is not required when logging in. This wasted A LOT of my time. All in all there is no point in having a secure system if its too difficult for the customer to login. I use PC's all day long and am v proficient with them and found Aldermore the most frustrating system ive used for a very long time.

    This is the second account I have opened with Aldermore following a really good experience opening a Customised Savings Account just moments previously. I selected the product due, firstly, to its offering substantially higher interest than my existing banking provider with no limitations on access to my funds. Secondly, my decision was made final when I realised how quick it was to set up the account. Having input all the relevant data when opening the Customised account, the system pulled all this through minimising my effort - resulting in this account being set up in just over 3 minutes!! In fact, though, at least 30 seconds of this was wasted due to their not being a relevant response under the "How did you hear about Aldermore" question - if I had simply been able to select "Other", this account would have been opened in just over 2 minutes (Tweak 1!). The system does assume, however, that the two accounts will operate with the same "Nominated Account" i.e. the source of funds - the second tweak I would like have liked to see is the ability to have separate nominated accounts per savings account. These two changes together would have made this the perfect experience.

    I already held one Aldermore account. I telephoned to ask whether I could open a different account in addition and the adviser did everything for me quickly, there and then.
