What you'll need to open your account in just 15 minutes:

  • A UK-based business, where all directors, owners and account users are aged 18 or over, resident in the UK and only liable to pay tax in the UK
  • Your business details (name, address and if you have one, your company registration number)
  • The sort code and account number for your business bank or building society account. The account must allow transfers to be made and received electronically and will be known as your nominated account. Your nominated account is the only source from which you can transfer money into your Aldermore account
  • A mobile telephone that can receive text messages. This is how Aldermore will send you your account password and without it you will be unable to log into your account
  • Internet access, as all of our business savings accounts are open and managed online
  • We do not provide accounts for client money or accounts to be held in trust

 

You should keep at least £1,000 in your account at any one time. An interest rate of 0.05% AER is payable on balances below £1,000.

Fees and Charges

Managing your account is simple and straightforward and we're always on hand to help if you have any questions. Here's how it works.

Once you've opened your Business Savings Account with us we'll send you everything you need to make a deposit and operate your account.

Your Nominated Account
Your nominated account is the UK business bank or building society account you register with us when you open your Aldermore account and is the only source from which you can transfer money into your Aldermore account.

To transfer money, simply contact your bank or building society and ask them to transfer the amount you require (deposits can be made by Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS or Standing Order).

You will need to provide your Aldermore Business Savings Account number (once you’ve opened your account, you’ll find this 8 digit number on the first screen in Internet Banking, under 'accounts'), Sort Code (23-33-43) and Beneficiary/Payee Name (your business name).

Withdrawals
To make a withdrawal, click on the Easy Access account you wish to withdraw money from in Internet Banking. On the next page you will see a section called Account Tools in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This will contain a link to 'withdraw funds'. Please note this link will only be visible if the account has been funded.

Change Your Password
You can change your password by logging in to your account with the details provided and select the Settings link.

Reset Your Password
If you've forgotten your password you can reset it in minutes. Simply go to the Internet Banking login page and select 'Reset password'.

Add and Remove Users
It's easy to add or remove names or change the user levels on your account by simply selecting the 'Manage Users' link.

Make Changes to Your Account
You can update or amend most information relating to your account online. We may ask you to send us supporting documentation by post or email once a change has been requested.

Statements
Your statement will be available via internet banking as a PDF that you can both print and save.

View Account History
You can view transactions on your account right back to the time you opened the account, simply log in to your account and select the Account History.

Tax Depending on your business type we may be obliged to deduct tax at source. For further guidance we would suggest consulting your tax adviser or the HM Revenue and Customs at www.hmrc.gov.uk.
Interest payments Interest is calculated on a daily basis and is paid monthly or annually. It can be paid to your savings account or your nominated account.
Minimum deposit £1,000
Maximum deposit £1m. Please contact us on 01733 821 321 if you would like to make a deposit in excess of £1m.

Minimum balance £1,000  an interest rate of 0.05% is payable on balances below minimum balance.
Cooling off period If you change your mind within 14 days of funding your business savings account we will cancel your account. No notice periods or penalties will apply. If your account remains unfunded after 45 days it may be automatically closed.
Withdrawals Unlimited - fee free (via online self service).
Paying money in

From your nominated account only, by the following methods: BACS, Faster Payments, Standing Order, CHAPS. Payments by cheques are not accepted.

Very simple for a bank!

I was looking for a good value, instant access business savings account. I found one and it was simple to open and use. When my bank manager asked why I was moving funds, I told him - he should listen and make all my banking easier.

Very good Customer Service

Despite a technical glitch when opening the account due to a server failure (not Aldermore's fault), the customer service team swiftly created a new account and minimised the extra work for me. I can't fault their expertise and helpfulness and so recommend them highly. Also, I always got through to the helpline within 2 or 3 rings - no queuing :)

Great savings rate, but frequent "timing out" is frustrating!

I wanted a commercial savings account with instant online access, and a good rate of interest. I haven't come across this bank before, but was re-assured by the write ups showing it was award winning, and easy to set up. So far my only transaction has been an initial transfer in of funds from my nominated account. I was able to use "faster payment", so this was very easy. Hopefully the transfer out process will be as easy! I read through the reviews before setting up the account, and took note that a number of people commented on how quickly you can be "timed out" during the set up process. I read through the set up instructions, and made sure I had all the relevant information I required, before I started. Initially, the online process seemed easy, but like many others, I was timed out, and I didn't think I'd been that slow! The on screen message said to check for emails, as I may have received one which would have a link to take me to the position I had reached before being timed out. I had, and was able to continue, but was timed out twice more before I had finished. On the final screen, I was told I had successfully set up a new account, and I was to read the instructions below..... naturally I was timed out before I could read these. I tried my link again, and was asked for a login and password for my new account. I had an email showing the password, but didn't know what my login was (it wasn't my email address). I had to 'phone customer services. I was pleasantly surprised there was no queue, and a pleasant and helpful gentleman said he would check to see if my account had been set up (it had been) and that my login should be emailed to me, but he could give it to me. I rechecked my inbox, and the relevant email had arrived. I then logged on for the first time. I was then asked to change my password, and set up answers to 5 security questions. What it did not say, until I tried to save my answers, is that they should be at least 4 characters long - two of mine had been 3 characters long. I started to change my answers, and you guessed it, I was timed out yet again! I would say that this is a good bank, with good products, which from that point I am happy to recommend it. As for ease of use, so far I have only set up the account and made a transfer in. Apart from the timing out issue, so far it has been easy, and once set up, the account was immediately available for use without the having to post by Royal Mail documents and cheques. The only frustrating issue is how quickly it times out. If the account is like this during normal operations, I wouldn't mind too much on a savings account which I access infrequently. However, I wouldn't tolerate it on a current account.
