Following research conducted by advice supermarket Unbiased and insurer Prudential, which found savers are overpaying £1.8 billion by not maximising savings into tax-efficient cash ISAs

Simon Healy, Managing Director for Savings at Aldermore, says:

“The low rate environment may put many people off saving in the first place, but we shouldn’t use it as an excuse to not save at all. Savers need to continue to shop around and look at some of the new providers who continue to offer the best savings rates. We should all make the most out of the tax benefits that ISAs provide.

“On the upside, the introduction of the Personal Savings Allowance in April means more of us will be able to keep the interest on our savings without it being taxed. We ultimately want a savings regime that rewards people for putting aside their hard earned surplus cash.”
